Mango-Manga

mango-manga.jpg

There’s this store called Mango-Manga near the place where I live (walking distance). This store is in the Philippines, btw.

They SELL CD copy of SCANNED manga that WE (the different scanlation groups) work hard for to give to people for FREE!

This is their website: mango-manga [dot] cjb [dot] net (I do not want to promote their site here >_<)

You can notice by the titles of the manga they have and by means of which are completed and which are not, that were indeed from different scanlation groups.

If in case you know the shop and you have an idea about it, you can defend it here. But as far as my investigation goes, they’re definitely from different scanlation groups.

I am posting this to let other scanlation groups know about it, that somebody is selling their hard work and all, and probably, people might come to realize that they could get them for free, so why buy them from people who just came to leech them for free too and is in fact earning for it?

Please DO NOT support them!

And yes, this is just another Naruto Fan thing. While I’m at it, please also stop supporting Naruto Fan!

    It’s real absurd. Similar to the counterfeiters that I see in the streets as I head to the train station daily. I hope something is done to shut them down

  2. Yeah, well. To think that they even sell licensed ones too.

    This is just me being irksome, but perhaps you want to put a big, red “X” or something on their logo, just to enforce the fact that they pirate stuff?

    You know, just in case someone decides they don’t want to read your post… >.> Those people might get the wrong idea, you know.

    Just my two cents.

  4. I was thinking of that too, just now. ^^;

    SOMEONE NEEDS TO BOOT THEM!!! >..<

  6. Euri, you should open up a stall in front of their store and promote “how to get scanlations for free 101″ and run those profiting retards out of business.

    I don’t think Euri would have time to do that… she has (a) job(s) you know… >.<

  8. It makes me want to make a blog post:

    “How to Leech Manga from IRC!”

    *lol*

    Oh if you knew… there’s also a big commerce on the internet (I am especially talking about some specific bidding website that google acquired) with a bunch of people selling free fansub for around 20$ plus shipping fee…

    Above is one of many counterfeit operations that goes on using scanlators for free translated material. similar operations include manga collection CDs for computers on ebay and other sites.

    Scanlators spend many hours in different aspects of releasing translated manga that should be free all to view

    If you come across an organization that distributes unlicensed manga/ anime etc for a fee, then please report them to your local distributor of anime and manga in your country.

    Original manga will never be released on CD format for a fee!

    In the event that Kawaii heavens name is found on a product that is for sale, do not buy…. Mark my word, whilst admin here KH will never charge for any translated and donations to Kawaii heavens is voluntary, where 100% will go towards web hosting…. in fact the admins here have to pick up the rest of the bill XD

    *Note that manga in this message’s context referrs to that of the official release of a series not to get mixed up with Doujins which some companies might release as a legitimate series for computer!

    Well, they already have an advertisement on main KH page… Time to make them pay for it, don’t you think?
    They seem to be selling pirated copies of anime-related stuff, and I’m pretty sure there are companies that sell some of this stuff in Phillippines legally. Probably, we can make them a favour by letting their lawyers speak to these guys, preferably by C&D letters means… Though I don’t think we can easily make them stop selling anime/manga/OST (they’d have to go out of business then), we can harm them pretty good. Someone near there could inform police; we can inform their ISP. Less legal, but very effective methods are spam and DoS attacks. Site hack can be useful as well. Of course, there’s no need for such “extreme” measures right now, but who knows for the future?

  13. Aaah >_< thats ridiculous!! The store, and that site/forum/whatever!! Myself i’ve had enough problems with those =.=;;;;

  14. Just got in this site accidentally.

    I thought they have permission from the scanlators. I always saw the group in anime conventions selling manga scans for Php10 per volume! And they have a HUGE collection.
