We are re-posting the download links of the fanbooks from our servers. But I’m doing this at a per request rate of any fanbooks in our list during my free time.

For our fanbooks list and to request re-posting of download links, please proceed to the Kawaii Heavens Fanbooks thread at the forum.

When you download our files from our Project Page, and you found something like CRC Error (Critical Error) as you unzip it, it means that the file was not completely uploaded a.k.a the file is broken. If so, please report it to us by our Contact Form or commenting on the project page itself.

I promise to fix it up ASAP. Sorry for the inconvenience. ^_^;

Hey everyone~ I know I’ve been missing a lot these days, but I’m sure everyone are able enough to handle the website on their own… >.>; Well… I’ve been busy working and saving up for the next hosting… and since it’s Christmas… might as well greet everyone a very Merry Christmas & Happy New Years~ I couldn’t really make any gifts… so I guess that will do for now… :P

IRC Channel

Firstly, with regards to our IRC channel (#kawaii-heavens @ Rizon.net), it has been re-registered under my name. With this, I would also like to thank ShiroganeAkane for remaining in the IRC all this time to XDCC our stuff *hugs* and the rest of the IRC regulars.

Se-chan and Continuing Projects

Heh. This is quite a topic, isn’t it? Seriously, I don’t want to blog about it, but I feel that it is necessary to let people know. Anyway, I would like to inform the remaining people who still aren’t aware, that Se-chan already left Kawaii Heavens for good. With the issue of Se-chan and all that past drama, there were a lot of people (especially staffs) that left KH as well. Honestly, it had been quite a pain. Aside from the fact that we are currently shorthanded, we are still filling up the small pieces of the puzzle that was once whole. We would like to let everyone know that even if Se-chan left KH, we are definitely not going down. We do not exist only for her. We existed before we met her, and we will remain so even after she left.

That being said, frankly, it had been months since she left and informed us of her leaving for good through PM. Even then, with the discussion of the remaining admins and staff, we decided to still continue our old projects despite Se-chan’s request of them being transferred to AQS. We already attempted to contact anyone from AQS and as we were told, their hands are quite full at the moment and they do not have enough staffs to shoulder our old projects. Therefore, we are assuming that we can continue on with our old ones, thus we are doing so now. This being said, we are continuing Happiness!, Shuffle!, Utawarerumono.

Dropping Projects

We are informing everyone that we are officially dropping Zero no Tsukaima, both manga and novel. The novel has been licensed, thus the dropping and with regards to the manga, we do not have enough man power to continue it. Anyway, it wasn’t originally our project (it is a joint one) in the first place so even if we drop it, you can still get them from the other group/s.

7-Post Rule

With regards to our old 7-post rule, we are removing it since we now have a sponsor who provided us with 2 servers. These servers, of course, have their download limits, since they are sponsored and all. Also, we are requesting everyone not to direct link stuffs from our download servers. If you want to host our files, we aren’t that great to refuse your god intentions but you are required to send us a notice about this and you have to upload it to your own servers

Our download server 1 is down. Please be informed that all of the older releases are currently down at the moment. I am re-uploading everything to the second server. I will post by comments which series are already uploaded in due time.

I’ve finally put the project page up. That’s about all I can do with the very little free time I have. You can now download all our releases (except a few projects we dropped) from there. You’ll probably wonder why the links are directed to my blog. Actually, I’m using my blog to cloak the actual download links until I could get a good script to use here.

Again, I would like to thank our sponsor, Ems for providing us a few of her space and bandwidth for our releases. It’s a great help on our end.

Okay, guys, go run on the forum, create your accounts, create your topics, and start making posts about bugs, feature requests, and candidates for new themes.

Modifications and themes will be installed in the coming weeks (in that order) after they have been selected and testing. If anyone knows of a SMF mod or theme which they would like to see us use, make a post saying so!

@Kiatsu: Once you’ve created your account, there is the issue of giving staff back their privileges, as well as creation of boards and stuffs. (Please don’t install mods or themes right away, though — I will be testing that over the coming weeks on a separate server so we don’t break the production install!)

@All staff: Please contact me ASAP via e-mail thenewme91 (at) gmail (dot) com — I am planning on making forum archives publicly available and but I need to know if there are any security concerns I need to be aware of. (The new archives are going to be static HTML, (post contents only), and it’s not possible to do user-level security.)

@Euri: Please reinstall the SMF component, reconfigure, then re-enable the WP-SMF bridge. There is a new DB account, account password, and prefix — MSN or e-mail me for details. (I was getting errors en masse about failed database changes before, so I disabled it… I hope that’s not a problem.)

The reorganization of the forums is a multi-step process, and will take a while to get done, because I want to see it done right, and I want to get the community involved. (Yes, this means we’re going to have a very quick “find us a good theme” contest, among other things.)

Here’s what’s going on this week…

Week 1

• Determine risk of temporary update to 1.1.4 until reinstallation. - DONE (it's safe because it's just security fixes).
• Post Week 1 schedule.
• Disable and dismantle forum shoutbox (replacement to be found later if necessary).
• Analyze full SQL database to determine what SMF prefixes were used.
• Download mods to local test server (cherryblossom.homelinux.com) for compatibility testing. — Stage one complete (Testing itself will occur in a later week.)
• Install SMF 1.1.4 on local test server (cherryblossom.homelinux.com).
• Clean up old forums prefixes (/forum, /forums).
• Clean old SMF prefixes on SQL database. Back up and drop as necessary.
• Install SMF 1.1.4 into /forum (tentative) using a sane SQL prefix.
• Disable WP-SMF bridge. (was: Because of the WP transition, this should have no adverse effects because we are no longer using a home-grown solution that is tied to the SMF MySQL prefix.) Oops, forgot that Euri had already installed a WP-SMF bridge. The bridge has been disabled so users don’t get error messages.
• Re-enable WP-SMF bridge. (Euri?)
• Redirects from /forums/* to new prefix as necessary.
• Allow users to re-register.
• Reassign staff positions.
• Recreate boards and threads, or delegate this task to others who can do so.

And yes, this does mean that you will need to recreate accounts, because the database is a mess. I’ll try and salvage old posts into a read-only archive, if I have time.

Edit: Okay, the read-only archive will work, but there is the problem that permissions won’t be enforced. >.> So either I can open an archive with just guest-readable posts (incomplete = bad), or I can open all the posts (insecure = bad). Need to consult the team here…

As I had said in my last post, we are revamping everything in this site. Therefore, all download links will be put off temporarily from the main site.

For our manga projects, you can get them here at my site for the meantime. But with regards to the fanbooks and desktop mascots and stuffs, your only option is the IRC Channel for now, until I could manage to put up a temporary download page for you guys.

That said, here’s the new Wordpress powered blog and the Rimu-chan layout! Well, what do you think of it? :D
